So for a few summers I have a volunteered at a camp for kids with muscular dystrophy. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in my life. I truly love the kids at camp! Even though I am only at camp one week a year, I have made friends that will last a lifetime!
My husbands cousin has MD and that is what got us started going to camp. It is really hard to see someone be sick and know that there is nothing you can do to make them better. Camp gives these kids the chance to do things they never get to do!

Working with children who are unable to do the things that we do, is an eye opening experience. I'm sure it was even more personal for you since you have a family member with MD. However, it are things like that, that make all of us apprecieate what we have. I also did not know you were married! You look beautiful in your wedding picture.
The camp is actually pretty close to Lawrence. It is by Bonner Springs. I can get you info if you are interested!
